1. MetaTrader4 (people call it just MT4). They say (not only MetaQuotes, but traders themselves as well) that it’s the most suitable platform for trading. The statistics says that it’s really so. It serves more that 10000 traders at on time!

The majority of brokers use this platform for their everyday work. By the way, I personally use it too as it’s secure, has all necessary indicators and is able to work with robots (including those programmed by traders)

2. MetaTrader5. It’s an improved version of the MT4 platform. It’s perfect for those who trades currencies, CFD’s and futures. It all can be done in one account. 79 instruments for technical and fundamental analysis, level II, 21 timeframes, alert system, etc. help traders greatly. People say that it works even faster than MT4, but when I tested it, it seemed to me that the performance was the same.

3. Ninja Trader allows trading currency pairs, stocks, futures, forwards, and even options. This software can seem more complicated for a newbie, but its developers insist that all efforts are worth it and the platform efficiency is pretty high comparable to others. I can’t say anything from my experience, cause I haven’t worked with it, but it is not free, and there are two prepaid versions: lite & pro.

Here is an example how charts in MT4 look like. As for me, its nothing superfluous here, just things that I really need. And it’s more than enough for performing technical analysis. Moreover, it was offered free to me here when I was opening an account.
