When I put it in the reverse gear the car doesn't move-it behaves like its in neutral & it gives out a churning sound when I But it doesn't work when I'm driving in game with manual gear. It works configuring all the gears on settings except the reverse gear. When I push down the shifter and try to put it in reverse it won't work. It just comes up as the 6th gear. Technically the shifter has 7 gears with reverse but only 6 of them work on settings. Just today while I was driving all of a sudden I was unable to access 5th gear. When I went to shift up from 4 to 5, it was like the stick was hitting a wall and it just directed me back to 3rd gear. No because both 5th and reverse are on the same side, I also cannot access reverse. I have no problems with the other gears. Some manual transmissions use a sliding idler gear to engage reverse, some use a synchronizer. To say that modern transmissions do not have a synchronizer on the reverse gear is incorrect, and that is what the original post was about. To say that reverse gear is "synchronized" is also incorrect, because of what "synchronized" is defined as. IF all other gears work as designed then the problem will not be the clutch but in the gear box. The only thing that you would have removed in the gear box is the gear lever or the gear level turret on top of the box. recheck this area to ensure that you have got the lever in the selector rails correctly and that the reverse rail is not out of line with the cross section of the others..
