i would always recommend scrimming the ceiling line and skim into the wall to ceiling edge as it is a more professional job, also if in 6 or 7 years if you wanted rid of the coving its not to much work to make the edge look nice. as for skimming and fitting the same day imho it is the best way to go about things, apply the skim ( two coats ) leave for an hour fit the coving, the adhesive and
